Richmond Magazine Burgers - Dot's Back Inn

In the November issue of Richmond Magazine is a section on best burgers in Richmond. A good friend enjoy a good burger, and over the many years I have known him we have honed our taste for perfection. Two of our favorite burgers (The Tavern and The Boathouse) are left out of this edition of Richmond mag, but over the holidays we are sampling the burgers recommended in the magazine.

Today was Dot's Back Inn, and we both thoroughly enjoyed this burger and the restaurant itself. We have our burgers cooked medium rare, b/c sometimes a rare burger tends to fall apart and the sear of the medium rare keeps the patty held together well. Dot's cooked it perfectly. I had mine with bacon, mushrooms, and swiss. The swiss tasted fresh and contributed tremendously to the burger. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were fresh, and every time my hands gripped the burger for a bite a bit of juice was flowed from the pink warm center. It was, as any good burger should be, a religious experience.
